Eddie May is not about to bin every player who played for Falkirk under Johhn Hughes.

Despite losing a number of players so far this close season Falkirk are still able to keep hold of some. New manager Eddie May wants to get his own stamp on the squad but that does not mean wholesale changes. The squad from last year was good enough to make the Scottish Cup final despite flirting with relegation. This suggests they have some decent players and May has decided that striker Mark Stewart is one he should hang onto and has managed to persuade him to sign a contract extension which keeps him at the club until 2011. The Bairns have high hopes for Stewart. May said: "
I spoke to Mark regarding an extension to his contract and the deal was agreed within minutes. He was delighted to extend his stay here and we were delighted to be able to offer him this extension. He has some outstanding attributes and is developing all the time as a player. He will have a big part to play this season and I am sure he will thrive on the challenge of being increasingly involved with the first team."

May is still looking to bolster his strike force and is on the look out for the right man as he prepares for his first season in charge at Falkirk. He went on: "
We now have strong competition for places in the forward areas with Carl Finnigan, Mark Stewart, Alex MacDonald, Ryan Flynn, Neil McCann and Paul Sludden all fighting it out for a first team place. However, before the closure of the transfer window, I will still be looking to add at least one more forward but it has to be the right type."
