St Johnstone want to record their third win in the SPL and will be wanting to be an unwelcome first-foot for Falkirk.

stjohnstoneDerek McInnes wants to notch up his side's third SPL of the season when they start off  2010 by travelling to Falkirk. St Johnstone were clinical in securing a 3-1win at Motherwell on Boxing Day after they had celebrated a  1-0 home win over St Mirren the previous week. Saints had hoped to end the year by completing a hat-trick of wins but their game against Hibs on Wednesday was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

McInnes said: "We were very pleased with the win over Motherwell and the players deserved it. It was back-to-back wins for us and now we want to build on it. We want to be greedy and get three in a row and any team would take that little run of form. That is our motivation, to start the year with another win, but we know it will be difficult against Falkirk. They will be determined to stop us after losing 3-1 to us earlier in the season at our place. We started the game well but Falkirk came back and at one point the game could have gone either way. It just showed again that there is little between the teams in the SPL. We have been playing well in recent weeks but if we lower our standards, we will be vulnerable to any side, whereas if we play to our potential then we are a match for anyone. So we will be trying to make sure we perform on Saturday and to get three wins in a row would be very pleasing."

McInnes is interested in bringing a familiar face back to Scotland in the shape of former teammate Craig Moore. He is waiting for Moore to tell him if he is willing to come back from Australia to sign for the Perth men and help him keep his New Year resolution - to make sure the club remains in the SPL. He said: "We have to work hard in the second half of the season. We have worked too hard to get into the league; we have to make sure we put every bit of effort into staying in it."
