Spanish Eyes Not Jaundiced Against Rangers

Young players sometime make the wrong move before they are ready and Aaron Niguez appears to recognise he is one.
Aaron Niguez does not look back on his time with Rangers as a waste of time despite failing to secure regular football at Ibrox. The Spanish youngster joined on a two-year loan from Valencia, but decided to leave the club in the summer to join Segunda Liga outfit Celta Vigo. The Spaniard believes he may have made the move to Scotland too early in his career and might have been too young for Walter Smith's preferred side, however he still considers his time in Glasgow a 'wonderful experience'.
He said: "Nobody likes to leave a club as big as Rangers, but I'm young and to progress as a player you need to play. It was a difficult decision to turn my back on the Scottish champions for a Second Division side in Spain. But as far as I was concerned there was no other option because I'll get more game time at Celta. I learned many things at Rangers and I improved on the physical side and I know what it's like to be at a great club. It was a wonderful experience because I've now sampled another culture and met new people. My problem was probably that I was too young and the trainer preferred to trust more experienced players. I don't hold anything against the coach. Every manager has their own ideas and there is no magic formula to be successful. To him things were good the way he worked. We won two trophies in that season and he trusted other players. But I hope things go well for them and Rangers do well in the Champions League as well as win the league again in Scotland." | Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)
