Chris Smith will have his foot in plaster come the New Year so no lucky coal for him.
Goalkeeper Chris Smith has returned early to St Mirren from his loan with Dunfermline after discovering he has broken his foot. He will now have to sit things out for up to two months. Smith had joined the Pars as an emergency loan at the end of last month so his luck just isn't in as he had only just made his comeback from a cruciate ligament injury suffered in March and now faces an expected recovery period of between six and eight weeks. Smith even unwittingly played with the broken foot in Dunfermline's 3-3 First Division draw with Ross County on Saturday.Smith said: "This just sums up what has been a terrible year for me. I was really enjoying getting first-team football and doing well with Dunfermline. I felt it last Thursday and mentioned that it felt a bit funny to the Dunfermline physio on Friday, but then played the game on Saturday." |
