Attendances at February’s Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final ties are in line for a boost after the SFL announced cut price tickets costing only £5 for young fans of Hearts, St Mirren, Rangers and St Johnstone. The semi-finals are to be played at Fir Park (Hearts v St Mirren) and Hampden. (Rangers v St Johnstone) in February 2010.
SFL Chief Executive David Longmuir said: "The Co-operative Insurance has shown yet again that they are a fantastic sponsor to have on board. So far this season, they have organised a Football Family Fun Day, arranged for all children under-16 to be admitted free of charge to First Round Co-operative Insurance Cup matches as well as continuing their grassroots programme that supplies kit to young football teams throughout Scotland. I am sure fans of the teams looking for a place in the Final will be delighted with this deal."
Aileen Walters, Sponsorship Manager for The Co-operative Insurance said: "We are delighted with how well this season’s competition has gone and we are sure that the children attending the semi-finals will catch the football bug early. We hope that by pricing tickets at £5 for Under 16s that fans will come along in great numbers and ensure a fantastic atmosphere at both games."
Prices for those of us who are over 16 will have to find either £18 and £22 for both games. OAPs join the Under 16s in being able to get tickets for £5. All tickets are available from the four clubs involved.
Tuesday 2nd February 2010 Hearts v St. Mirren Kick-off 7.45pm Fir Park, Motherwell.
Wednesday 3rd February 2010 Rangers v St. Johnstone Kick-off 7.35pm Hampden Park, Glasgow.
