Te race for the First Division title is hotting up with Dundee not giving up just yet.
St Johnstone will be acting as hosts today to Dundee but still be top of the league no matter what happens in Perth or anywhere else. Manager Derek McInnes will be able to welcome back defender Gary Irvine for the game after he recovered form an injury picked up against Queen of the South recently. However, Collin Samuel and Jody Morris are out of contention. McInnes' new signing Graham Barratt may be given the nod along with Martin Hardie, after he played the full 90 minutes of a midweek reserve game. Meanwhile, striker Andy Jackson has had his damaged Achilles tendon immobilised, pending tests. Boss Derek McInnes said: "Jacko was getting a wee bit of pain, which is a concern, so he's been put in plaster ahead of going to see a specialist in a couple of weeks."

Dundee manager Jocky Scott must decide whether or not to reinstate Jim Lauchlan after the central defender returned to training after recovering from the bruised knee that kept him out of the second part of the double header against Livingston. With Gary MacKenzie also back training after illness, the only absentee today is likely to be midfielder Darren Young. Scott thinks taht the game as hugely influential on the title race. He said: "Obviously, there is a lot at stake for us and if we lose the gap gets bigger again. But the game won't win the league for St Johnstone or for anyone else. We will take a big support through with us and we will need them. The fans have been great this season and their support is much appreciated."
