Hamilton hung on for a point against St Johnstone in Perth and the home side manager thinks they were let off the hook too easily.

St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes thinks his side missed a chance to pick up all three points against Hamilton yesterday. He felt his players lacked a cutting edge after he watched them come from behind to secure a draw 1-1 at home. It was a Filipe Morais' goal which cancelled out Accies' opener from Mickael Antoine-Curier. However, with the Perth side dominating possession in the second half, McInnes felt it was an opportunity missed for his team.
He said: "I think Hamilton are a good side, they work very, very hard, and against them a lot of it is about winning your individual battles. I thought we won the majority of those and that's why there's a real disappointment that we've not picked up the three points. We need to look at ourselves and ask 'Where can we get better?' and it's probably in the last third and being a bit more clinical. That's nit-picking because I was really pleased with our approach and it was difficult for the players at times because it was a hard-fought game, there's no question of that. But I thought we showed enough quality at times to win the game and unfortunately we never took our chances to do that. I felt our play definitely deserved a bit more, but I can't fault the players one iota because I felt they were terrific. But it's a point, we'll take the positives from it, add that to the three from last week against Hearts and take that on to Kilmarnock next weekend." However, McInnes was pleased how his players responded to going behind. He said: "They never know they're beat and they are always striving to get that winner once they get level. It was important to get back into the game before half-time because the longer they've got something to hang onto the more difficult it is."
Hamilton manager Billy Reid agreed that his side were second best as the game wore on and had goalkeeper Tomas Cerny to thank for a point. He said: "It's strange, we didn't play particularly well. We came here to a difficult venue and picked up a point, whereas last week we were outstanding and got nothing. It's strange how football works. It was a bit of a battle. They were probably the team in the ascendancy in the second half, trying to force the issue. Cerny has pulled off a couple of good saves and we take our point. The disappointing thing for me today was how we played. We're better than that. To win a game you need five, six, seven players playing well. We had that last week and got nothing. Today we didn't have that. We have guys there that are much better than that. Alex Neil's coming back from his injury, James McArthur's not trained for three weeks and I think it showed, Martin Canning hasn't trained as well. We've patched them up and we've come here and we'll take our point."
