C:WindowsTempphpCC34.tmpPreparations for the 2016-17 season are well underway as players head off to enjoy some R&R before the challenges facing them when they return to work. The Premiership will have a different look as Rangers have returned with expectations of challenging for honours. Hearts returned last season and made a decent fist of their first year back in the top flight so you never know what may happen. Aberdeen were challenging for the title for most of the season so they may put into action next time out some of the lessons learnt this time around.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes is keen to get back into action and said: "It would be great if we could achieve a record number of season ticket holders for the new campaign. We've already strengthened the squad with the arrivals of Jayden Stockley and Miles Storey and we're looking to bring in more players in the coming weeks. My objective every year is to see an improvement on the previous season and it's no different this time round. Having a packed Pittodrie makes such a difference to the atmosphere and that really makes a difference for the players. We all just can't wait for the new season to start!"
