The trouble in Bucharest has not stopped Rangers wanting their fans to be behind them in Sevilla
 Rangers chief executive Martin Bain said: "The issue of taking tickets for this match was finely balanced. Declining our allocation was considered seriously in view of the events in Bucharest but it is evident a large number of supporters had already booked to travel to Spain and would have gone regardless. In view of this and following discussions with relevant authorities it is more appropriate for the club to be in control of the process as much as possible. We have also discussed the matter with supporters groups who share the club's desire to eradicate poor behaviour by a minority at some matches. In addition, the club also made a second security visit to Seville for discussions with the authorities last week who said they would welcome Rangers supporters to their city. In taking the ticket allocation, we have agreed with supporters' groups to introduce additional measures on the distribution of tickets to fans and to take extra stewards to Seville to assist our fans where possible. There is full agreement between the supporters' representatives and the club that it is vitally important that the club is represented in the best possible light by all fans who travel to Seville." |
