C:WindowsTempphpF85F.tmpSt Mirren remain rooted to the bottom of the Scottish Championship after a disappointing result in Kirkcaldy against Raith Rovers tonight. The Buddies are now five points behind Ayr, seven short on Dumbarton and nine adrift from tonight's hosts. Rovers' Ryan Hardie scored a late double as the only goals of the game to end their 15-game winless run in the Scottish Championship.  With a bit of a goalkeeper problem, Rovers were forced to field midfielder Ryan Stevenson in goal in last week's 1-0 defeat by Ayr. However, there was no such drama tonight as new signing Pavol Penksa pulled on the gloves.

A St Mirren win would have moved the strugglers to within three points of their hosts with a game in hand. However, any such hopes were extinguishedwhen Hardie headed home Bobby Barr's cross on 74 minutes.  Saints pushed forward in search of an equaliser but Hardie settled the game 10 minutes from time when he rounded Billy O'Brien to finish after the goalkeeper had gifted him possession.
