 | Happy days to look back on |
| It appears that Falkirk defender Steven Pressley will be calling it quits on his playing career tomorrow (Wednesday). The veteran former Rangers, Celtic and Hearts player is to host a press conference at Hampden Park amid reports he will confirm his retirement from the game. He will hope to carry on his coaching role with the national squad under manager George Burley but also find other coaching jobs so he is employed full-time.
Pressley started his senior career 19 years ago with Rangers and went on to play for Coventry and Dundee United before joining Hearts in 1998. It was at Tynecastle where he made the biggest impact, spending eight years there and becoming club captain. He left controversially at the end of 2006 after he, Craig Gordon and Paul Hartley called a press conference where they criticised majority shareholder Vladmir Romanov. Pressley moved to Celtic for 18 months where he helped them win the SPL title and Scottish Cup double in 2007. A four-month stint at Danish side Randers late last year was followed by a return to Falkirk, who he helped avoid SPL relegation this season. Pressley also earned 32 Scotland caps between 2000 and 2006.
