Laim Buchanan will have an enforced rest for the next four weeks as he recovers from a henria operation.
Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall will have to cope without Liam Buchanan for the next month as the striker has undergone surgery on a hernia problem and is therefore out of action. McCall was at great pains to point out that Buchanan is not set for a long spell on the sidelines. He said: "We know that people will be worried to learn that Liam needs an operation but we don't want alarm bells to be ringing. I can't stress enough the fact that this isn't a serious problem. We knew this may happen since Liam had the operation on his groin last season that kept him out for a long spell. Liam could have played on just now but in doing ran the risk of making the injury worse."Buchanan’s cloud could have a silver lining for new signing Steve Lovell who could get a chance to show what he can add to Thistle. McCall went on: "We are fortunate to have Stevie Lovell available to us and he is getting fitter and sharper all the time and should be very close to full match fitness by the time we play Inverness in ten days." |
