One To Build On

C:WindowsTempphp155C.tmpRangers' Danny Wilson was glad to secure a win over Aberdeen on Wednesday – but insisted the squad are not about to get carried away just yet. The defender knows the importance of keeping things in perspective ahead of Sunday’s trip to Pittodrie, as Rangers look to build on their midweek win over Sunday's opponents.

Wilson said: "
We are not going to get too carried away with it as you look at the previous two games which were two defeats. You should never get too high or too low, but we know we performed well on Wednesday night and we look forward to Sunday where hopefully we can try to replicate that. We have been inconsistent this season, and that has probably been the most frustrating thing as you look at the two previous results, and then you saw what we are capable of on Wednesday.  So we will need to be better, and we are looking forward to it on Sunday.  I think we can definitely learn the lesson from Wednesday in terms of that being the level we should try to get to every time we play. It wasn’t through a lack of effort in the two previous games, maybe just a lack of quality and individual errors. We know what we can do, and we will try to get to that as many times as possible."

Wilson thought that Rangers hit some good form on Wednesday with one of their best performances of the season so far, saying: "
I’d say it’s up there. In terms of result and the form we had been in previously going into that game, to dig out that result in the manner we did I think was pleasing for us.  We know we are capable of that, but we just need to show it more often, and that has been a problem for us not being able to. But that one’s out the way now, we move on and look forward to Sunday."

Wilson is determined to make it a brace of wins victory over the men from Aberdeen.  He went on: "
It’s obviously different. They are at home and I imagine they will be not happy at how things turned out the other night. They will want to put on a performance for their fans and we have to be ready for that. But we will have a great travelling support – we always do up there, and we want to come back with the three points and make sure those fans go home happy."
