Aberdeen will not be able to call on Sone Aluko for a few weeks.

aberdeenAberdeen boss Mark McGhee looks to have lost the services of winger Sone Aluko for a while thanks to a stomach injury. Aluko was forced off before half-time in Saturday's 2-1 win over St Johnstone. Even with the international break providing some recovery time, he will definitely miss out on the Dons' next game in just under two weeks' time. The results of a scan will determine how much longer he will be out for. Manager McGhee said: "Sone has a stomach strain - which we don't know exactly yet the level of. Certainly, he won't be training for a couple of weeks. I'd imagine he'd miss the Motherwell game; I've no idea beyond that. It needs to be scanned and it needs to settle down a bit."

Aluko made sure he scored a stunning solo goal against Saints before going off, and McGhee added: "
He started to look the part again. His goal was absolutely fantastic. If he's now going to be out the team, it's a setback for us all." There was better news on fellow youngster Peter Pawlett, who it was also feared had picked up another injury. Speaking yesterday McGhee said: "Peter's fine; Peter trained this morning; he really just cramped up. He hadn't been training much."
