One From Ten Is A Disappointment

Booth was taking the positives from the game, with those inside Firhill having witnessed an impressive Thistle performance and one he feels can be built upon. He said: "In the end we are disappointed with the point. At the start of the match it is a game you are looking to win, it's a home match against Kilmarnock who had been struggling a bit. When you go down to 10 men you would probably have taken a point but we went up and scored and you have to try and hold on. Unfortunately Kilmarnock came back and scored again, so we are disappointed. I thought it's the best we have played all season, we passed the ball well and created chances. We played how we know we could. We played in spells against Inverness but today especially for the first 40 minutes we were back to our best. It was free flowing football and we could have been a couple ahead. We just need to continue playing like that."

Despite Liam Lindsay being sent off, Kris Doolan scored his second of the game to give Thistle the lead but the team just couldn't keep it tight like they had done against Hamilton on the opening game of the season. The former Hibs player went on: "When we went down to 10 men we knew we could still play, we had done it against Hamilton so we knew what we were doing and I thought when we went ahead we would be ok. It was just disappointing we gave Boyd the space in the box to score. It was good to open our goal scoring account for the season, obviously people were making an issue of it so it's good just to get that out the way and it's good for Dools to get himself off the mark."
