Annan will have to cope without top goalscorer Peter Weatherson against his former club Morton at Galabank today due to a calf injury. Steven Swinglehurst and Steven Black are both doubts and new recruit Kevin Nicoll will not feature as he is cup-tied. Jack Breslin, who has been added on loan from Celtic, and former St Mirren striker Lewis Guy who signed on Monday are both in manager Jim Chapman's plans. Chapman said: "Morton are favourites but Hamilton Accies were the favourites in the last round and we beat them. It would be huge for this club to be in the quarter-finals but only another top performance will give us a chance of being there."
Morton have Thomas O'Ware struggling to face the Galabankies due to a knock and he will need to pass a fitness test before manager Jim Duffy will include him in his plans. Injuries have already ruled out Luca Gasparotto (ankle), Frank McKeown (knee) and Peter MacDonald (knee) with Duffy respectful of his side's League 2 opponents. Duffy said: "People may think that we are favourites however you have to go out and win the right to win any game. We have to be as well-organised and disciplined as when we play the likes of Rangers and Hibs to ensure that we get the right result."
