Hearts Slovakian 'keeper is on the mend without the need for the surgeon's knife.

Marian Kello has been relieved to hear that he does not need surgery on his shoulder. The Slovakian goalkeeper has not played for Hearts since colliding with a post in last month's win over Kilmarnock. An injection failed to repair the damage but Kello now hopes he can return to training in the coming weeks. He paid a visit to a specialist and came away with good news.

Kello said: "
I have had scans done on the shoulder and saw a specialist towards the end of last week and it is good news. The doctors don't think I will need an operation, which is very encouraging. I will keep working with the physios at the club, keep doing as much ball work as I can and then see how things develop. With a bit of luck I might be back in full training in a few weeks. That has made me feel much better as I really didn't want to have an operation."
