Some people just have no luck and it looks like Kevin Rutkiewicz and Graeme Smith are part of that group as they have yet to play this season.

St Johnstone captain Kevin Rutkiewicz is still not making progress on his comeback trail as he was forced to miss yesterday's behind-closed-doors friendly against Dunfermline. Defender Rutkiewicz had been hoping to make his first appearance of the season in Saturday's game against Rangers after he sat out the start of the season with a knee injury. However, his chance to play were dealt a knock out blow by a back injury, followed up by a knock in training on Monday which saw him miss Tuesday afternoon's 2-2 draw at McDiarmid Park. Rutkiewicz was joined on the sidelines yesterday by goalkeeper Graeme Smith, who is mirroring the defender's lack of game time this season. There was good news for fellow long-term injured midfielder Kevin Moon and Peter MacDonald - who scored against the Pars - but fellow forward Steven Milne (ankle) is no closer to a return.

Speaking after the game, Saint's manager Derek McInnes said: "
Unfortunately, Graham and Kevin picked up knocks in training yesterday and so couldn't take part today. Steven Milne is not responding to treatment and I think he will be out for the next couple of weeks. Martin Hardie and Filipe Morais are both carrying knocks from Saturday but I expect them to be able to train on Thursday or Friday."
