Livingston will have to operate with their current playing staff after being fined £5,000 and given a registration ban for breaking SFA rules over dual interests. The Championship club were found to have breached four SFA rules in January due to majority shareholder Neil Rankine's involvement with East Fife. And the division's bottom side face more action if he does not cut his ties with one of the clubs.
The West Lothian side cannot register any player on loan or permanently or extend a player’s contract until they have resolved Mr Rankine’s role with either club. Livingston were also found guilty of providing "false, misleading or inaccurate information" over Mr Rankine's suitability to be involved with the club. It comes after Livingston were deducted five points and fined £10,000 for breaching rules over non-payment of tax.
