No Crowd Trouble Expected For Livingston Today

A club which could do with a some cash to flow have been denied a chance to put something in the bank due to safety concerns.
Things go from bad to worse for Livingston. The cash strapped club will be playing Falkirk today but they will not be enjoying hearing the rustle of notes or the happy sound of coins going into the coffers. The pre-season friendly will be played at Almondvale but there will be no supporters to cheer on their favourites and see how the players have responded to their summer break. New coach John Murphy will make his debut in the home dug-out without fear of any jeering of his decisions as the police have turned down the clubs application for a safety certificate.
This is the latest blow for the troubled club, who have until next week to contest legal action taken by West Lothian Council in a bid to reclaim outstanding rent for the stadium. A statement from the club read: "Every effort is being made to ensure that the stadium will be open for our fixture with Plymouth Argyle on Monday, July 20, for fans to get a glimpse of John Murphy's squad for the 2009-10 campaign." |
