C:WindowsTempphpF798.tmpAlan Stubbs could introduce new signing Darren McGregor in Hibs' League Cup second-round game with Stranraer tonight. The defender was confirmed as a Hibs player less than 24 hours after his exit from Championship rivals Rangers was confirmed. McGregor and the Glasgow club terminated his contract by mutual consent after he failed to feature under Mark Warburton and that allowed the Edinburgh-born centre-back to join his boyhood heroes on a two-year deal.Stubbs said: ''We're delighted to be able to welcome Darren into the group - his arrival provides real competition for places. He has always played well against us and he is strong, experienced player and a good professional. We're always looking to strengthen the squad and the arrival of Darren will do exactly that."

Stranraer manager Brian Reid has included new signing David Barron in his travelling party for the trip to Edinburgh. However, the former St Mirren defender may have to be content with a substitute's role after two-and-a-half years away from the senior ranks following injury. Everyone else is available with Reid hoping that his men can bounce back after defeats from Peterhead and Ayr. Reid said: "We should not be low in confidence as Peterhead have shown how good a side they are with wins over Falkirk and Dunfermline. We did not deserve to lose to Ayr so we can go to Easter Road and enjoy the experience and play without any fear."
