Dundee United Striker Francisco Sandaza is hoping today will be a good news day as he reports back to his surgeon after groin surgery. Last month the Spanish striker underwent his second operation since returning for pre-season training. Sandaza is keen to get back into training and could make his first appearance of the season shortly after Christmas if he gets good news today. Speaking on Wednesday, manager Craig Levein said: "Fran is going back down to see the surgeon tomorrow to get an update. Hopefully, he'll be able to push on and I'd expect him to be back running within the next couple of weeks."
Aberdeen
Potential loanee from Manchester City, midfielder Paul Marshall arrived for a trial at Aberdeen and ahs already said he wants to sign a deal. He has only been at the club since Monday and is keen to make the move in order to improve his chances of playing regular football. Last season Marshall, who has been with City since the age of 11, had loan spells at Blackpool and Port Vale but has yet to make his first-team debut for his parent club. Marshall said: "I want to sign for Aberdeen because it is virtually impossible to break into the City team with the kind of money the club is spending." McGhee is hopeful of an initial loan move and a permanent deal next summer. Borrowing phrases from X-Factor judge, Louie Walsh, McGhee said: "I watched him playing for Manchester City reserves and I liked him."
