Ross County have started early in getting players signed for next season and are not finished yet according to their chairman.
Ross County manager Derek Adams has been promised money to strengthen his squad for the challenges of season 2009-10. Chairman Dave Siegel has already sanctioned the four new signings made last week and he believes there will be more new faces at the club before the start of the season. Forwards Paul Di Giacomo and Garry Wood, midfielder Iain Vigurs and defender Gary Miller have all signed contracts in the last five days and Siegel has made it clear that the player budget is not exhausted just yet. .
Players have left the club with Sean Higgins and Richie Hart heading to Dundee, Martyn Corrigan to Partick Thistle and Andy Dowie to Dunfermline which allows some flexibility in terms of the number of possible new players. Goalkeeper Derek Soutar is said to be on his way with the likes of Rochdale, Swindon Town, Hereford United and Oldham Athletic said to be interested means County must find a replacement to rival Joe Malin. The Dingwall club have already a player in mind but Adams refuses to name names for fear of losing out in a bidding war. Siegel said: "I am very pleased with the signings we have made and Derek Adams is currently looking for a goalkeeper. It is his number one priority and we will see where we go from there. I think the signings Derek has made have been first class and I am looking forward to seeing these guys play. By bringing in Paul Di Giacomo it gives us a bit more punch up front. We are pleased to bring in Iain Vigurs from our local rivals Caley Thistle as well and I think he is a good prospect." | Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)
