Perth manager Tommy Wright wants midfielder Murray Davidson to sign a new contract with St Johnstone. Davidson has been with the club since 2009, having joined them from Livingston. The Scotland international underwent a major knee operation in January and made his return to the pitch against Ross County Under-20s on Tuesday. Davidson’s current deal with St Johnstone runs out on 30 August, but Wright is keen for the player to put pen to paper on a new contract.
Wright said: “Murray is still short of full match fitness, but he’s already two months ahead of schedule so I’m delighted with him. The chairman and I have had meetings with him and his advisors and we hope to get him on a longer deal"
