Robbie neilsonRobbie Neilson looks set to agree a deal to take him to Tannadice until the end of the season. he could even make his Dundee United debut against former club Hearts at the weekend. Neilson was released by Leicester in the summer and has been invited by United manager Peter Houston to sign a deal until the end of the season. Former Hearts assistant boss Houston is convinced that Neilson - whom he brought through the youth ranks at Tynecastle - will prove he is worth a longer deal.

Houston said: "Robbie will sign until the end of the season and if he does well, I'd be looking to keep him on. He had offers from English clubs but wanted to come back up and sign for us. He brings great experience and a great attitude. I know what we're going to get. He's one I had as youth coach at Hearts. Robbie can cover anywhere in the back four which is important as we're very short of bodies at the back. He's fit enough to play right away. There's no doubt about it. I would like to think the fans will take to him for the way he plays."
