Mystery Guest 'Club 12' To Be Decided By SPL
Updated Wednesday, 4th July 2012
There seems to be no co-ordination in all the meetings required to decide how the leagues are made up. Ther always seems to be another week to wait for each vote
Dunfermline, who were relegated due to finishing bottom of the SPL last season, believe they should be reinstated. However, one of the options suggested to SFL clubs before today's 'no' vote by SPL clubs, had Dundee, who finished runners-up in the First Division last season, as the team to replace Rangers. Doncaster said: "That's not been decided as yet. What will happen is the Scottish Football League will meet next week. They will determine where there is a berth for Rangers and our clubs can deal with it accordingly."
Pars chairman John Yorkston had urged the authorities to make a decision with the SPL season kicking off on 4 August and SFL clubs playing in the Ramsden's Cup a week earlier. Doncaster said: "Everyone wants clarity, the season is nearly upon us. It's important we have as much clarity as possible as soon as we can. What our clubs have done today is give a clearer steer than people perhaps thought they should."
