Moves Afoot For Perth Players

C:WindowsTempphp2C3D.tmpSt Johnstone manager Tommy Wright is looking ahead to the January transfer window and had to make the tough decision about which players he was willing to release to allow him to freshen up his squad.  First up to check the 'help wanted' notices are midfielder Stefan Scougall and striker Greg Hurst. Wright said it was inevitable some players would have to leave and that he'd made both players available for transfer.

Wright said:
"I've spoken to Stefan and Greg this week and they’ve been told that they can try to find new clubs if they wish. That could mean a loan spell somewhere or a permanent move.  I've also made Ali McCann and Kyle McClean available for loan to help with their development as we feel they need to get some first-team experience as well as reserve team football with us. They have futures here but they need to be playing more often than they currently are."

The Saints' manager will have his targets but was keeping those close to his chest but said both he and the Chairman are always looking to strengthen if it's the right deal for the club. Wright went on: "
I don't think it'll be busy in terms of numbers but I've spoken to the Chairman and we're keen to continue pushing on and developing the squad. January is a funny window because if you're not doing well it gives you an opportunity to make changes but on the flip side when it's going well you can be reluctant to do much to change things.  However, if we can get someone in who can improve the squad then we'll look to do it but it has to be the right fit for the team."
