The delights of Paisley must be something else to encourage Franco Miranda to stay for another year.

"He adapted very well to the Scottish game last season"
Once again St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson will be able to call on some South American experience for games in the SPL after Franco Miranda agreed a new deal. The Argentinean will spend another year on loan from Club Atletico Internacional after all the necessary paperwork was completed on Friday. Miranda scored two goals in his 27 games for the Paisley side last season. He has previously played for River Plater and Racing Club Avellaneda back home and has also played in Sweden with Helsingborgs.

Buddies general manager Brian Caldwell said: "
We were always confident that Franco would be back playing for us again next season. But, with the paperwork involved and all the to-ing and fro-ing, I did sometimes wonder if it would all be signed and sealed in time for pre-season starting. He adapted very well to the Scottish game last season and I'm sure he'll be all the better next season for that experience."
