Aberdeen are not minded to let any players leave the club at the moment and if anybody is considering a move in January better have deep pockets. Blackburn are said to be interested in encouraging Fraser Fyvie away from Pittodrie but manager Mark McGhee has told them they would need serious money to get the 16-year-old's autograph. The teenager has made seven first team appearances in the SPL this season and he has been watched a number of time by the English club. McGhee is trying to negotiate a new long-term contract with Fyvie to ensure the midfielder does not leave Pittodrie on the cheap. McGhee said: "We have got Fraser under contract and we are negotiating to extend that - not only from the point of view of protecting the club's position, but also from the point of view that Fraser is playing in the first team for youth-team money. That's not fair, so we are trying to address that on his behalf. If Blackburn or anyone else are interested, we in the next couple of years are going to be building a new stadium and 10 million quid would help towards that. So, if they want him they can have him, I can assure you."
McGhee expects Fyvie, who is currently out of action thanks to an ankle injury, will be flattered but not carried away by the reports. McGhee said: "It's all to do with the people around him, what they are telling him and how they are reacting. But he's a fairly well-earthed boy. He'll read it and enjoy it and I think he'll be flattered. He might get excited. But he'll hear what I'm saying now and realise he's not going anywhere and that will be the end of it."
Meanwhile, McGhee will continue to evaluate Derry City's Ruaidhri Higgins, who is available on an immediate free transfer following City's expulsion last month from the League of Ireland amid a duel contracts scandal. McGhee said: "He is a midfield player who is on trial. As for any decisions, we have not even discussed it. He is training and we're looking at it him and that's all."
