| The Bairns look within the club to find a new manager. |
As expected, Falkirk have named Eddie May as their new manager, assisted by Steven Pressley. Alex Smith will be the director of football at the club. May, 41, a former youth coach, will take over from John Hughes who left to manage Hibernian. The move was widely expected following Yogi's move, after the club stayed in the SPL on the last day of the season.
May had two spells as a player at Falkirk, and has been on the coaching staff for five years and has been credited with the development of Darren Barr (Captain), Scott Arfield and Tom Scobbie. His first role in charge will be to guide the Bairns on their first ever European campaign, when they meet Vaduz from Liechtenstein in the Europa League second qualifying round at The Falkirk Stadium on 16 July, with the return leg to be played on 23 July. | Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba.net)
