Hearts need to re-build for next season and may make a play from Maurice Ross.

| Hearts are thinking about making an approach for Maurice Ross who is available under freedom of contract after leaving Turkish side Kocaelispor. The player has indicated that he would find it hard to resist a contract if one was on offer from the Tynecastle side. The club have already spoken to the defender's agent and the prospect of European football is an attractive carrot for them to dangle to a player who has spent the last two years on the continent.
Ross is keen to speak to Hearts as soon as possible and said: "The emotional ties I have would favour coming back to Scotland. Hearts are ambitious and have qualified for Europe and it would be hard to say no. My representatives are speaking with them plus two clubs from the Bundesliga in Germany." There are other offers available with clubs in the Turkish Superleague showing interest after his short spell with Izmit-based Kocaelispor. Ross started off his career with Rangers before playing with Viking Stavanger of Norway. The lure of playing on the continent may not be good enough as Ross would prefer a return to being based with a British club. But only time will tell where he will end up.
