Steven Fletcher is ambitious and sees his future away from Easter Road sooner rather than later.

Hibs could be about to lose another player to the Old Firm with the news that striker Steven Fletcher says he is "
excited" by the chance of a move to Celtic. The speculation over a 'will they won't they' stance from Hibs mirrors the lead up to previous sales of player the club 'did not want to lose'. Celtic's initial approach, without money being mentioned, for Fletcher was rejected by Hibs on Friday and the Easter Road manager Mixu Paatelainen appeared confident the player would stay at Easter Road. Speaking after yesterday's draw with Motherwell, Paatelainen he said he did not think the time was not right for Fletcher to leave the club. However, manager's views rarely match those of the players involved and whether it is pounds signs or opportunities to play at a higher level a player enjoys being wanted.

When asked about the chance to move on Fletcher said: "
I'm excited at the thought of moving to Celtic Park. I'm ambitious and would love to play for them. I'm at a stage where I want to win things and play in the Champions League. Celtic will give me that chance. For the development of my career it is time to move to a bigger club. It will help me and improve my chances of playing for Scotland. If I get the chance to go to Celtic I don't plan to be sitting on the bench. They have international class players in every position, but I will work hard and push to get in the starting line-up. It is within my capabilities to make a worthwhile contribution to Celtic and their push for silverware. But it's out of my hands and that's a little frustrating. I've been in the Hibs first team since I was 17 and have enjoyed every minute. Hibs have been good to me and I will always appreciate that - but it is time for me to progress and I hope that is taken into account."
