Locke, Brown And The Return Of Zorro

Coming to Central Park as assistant manager is the vastly experienced Billy Brown. Billy is well known throughout Scottish football. Some will remember Billy in his heyday playing with Motherwell and Raith Rovers. He subsequently managed Hibs (as caretaker) and East Fife. Billy was also assistant manager at Hearts for many years and he has a wealth of knowledge and experience much needed currently at the Blue Brazil.

Cowden's new First Team Coach is a real Cowdenbeath hero - Neil Irvine. 25 years ago Neil skippered a legendary Cowden side to promotion for the first time in 22 years. His leadership qualities and will to win forever endeared him to the Central Park faithful as the club went up as runners up to Second Division Champions of 1991/2 Dumbarton. "
It is indeed time for 'The Return of Zorro' and we feel sure he will make a difference," said Cowden director Davy Allan, "The spirit of '92 is needed from everyone at Central Park currently."

The Blue Brazil won their first match of 2017 at Shielfield with goals from Buchanan, Ross and Renton giving them a 3-1 win over the Wee Rangers and with a game in hand v Elgin City in Fife on Tuesday the Blue Brazil can cut the gap between themselves and second bottom Clyde to two points with a win over the former Highland League side. Edinburgh City and Clyde clash on Saturday as the race to avoid the pyramid play off spot at the bottom of League Two hots up. The Meadowbank based side countered any Cowden revival after the departure of the hapless Liam Fox by going to league leaders Forfar and winning 2-1 with Arbroath's 1-0 victory over the Bully Wee at Gayfield sending the Cumbernauld side to 9th as interim joint-managers JP McGovern and Paul MacDonald took the Broadwood Stadium club for the first time since the departure of Barry Ferguson a few weeks ago.

East Kilbride are almost home and dry in the Lowland League and one from Brora Rangers, Buckie Thistle and Cove Rangers will win the Highland League to set up a clash of the non-leaguers with the winners playing the bottom side in League Two for a place in the SPFL next season.
