While the fight goes on regardingh which league they will play in, Livingston play Montrose to get some points on the board in case they have to stay in Division Three
Livingston are carrying on the fight to avoid relegation to the Third Division to the SFA but have agreed to play the fixture against Montrose. They refused to play last weekend after being demoted to the bottom tier following financial problems with their previous owner. On the field Livingston do not have any problems and head into their opening league game with a full squad at their disposal for the home game. A Livingston club spokesman said: "It will be good to get back to just playing football." Manager John Murphy has kept the squad training schedule on track throughout the club's difficulties and can call on all his players despite a lack of match practice.
On the other hand, Montrose manager Steven Tweed has a number problems ahead of the meeting in West Lothian. Gordon Pope left the field on a stretcher against Elgin last week and has since been diagnosed as having a broken foot. He will be out for eight weeks. Tweed said: "Injuries are a blow and that is two long-term ones we have now with Pope and Jamie Collier and we do not have a great strength in depth." Sean Anderson is free of suspension but is now injured and he and Fraser Milligan both face another three weeks out. Tweed will still have to cope without John Gemmell as he still has one more week to serve of his suspension. | Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba.net)
