cowdenbeathCowdenbeath’s home game with Stirling Albion today will have a 1.30pm kick-off not to prevent fans over indulging in pre-game refreshments but as they do not have their floodlights available to cope with the early nights. The lights are being upgraded from having lux rating of 160 to 600. The work is scheduled to be completed in time for the Fife derby against Dunfermline on Saturday, 27 November. The existing pylons were erected back in 1968 along with the original floodlight system and will be remain. However, new lamps are in the process of being installed.

A spokesperson for the Blue Brazil said: "
This has been an issue for the club for some years now but has remained unresolved due to the prohibitive costs of upgrading the system. However, funding recently secured will see a first class floodlghting system installed at Central Park. The project has been jointly funded by the supporters Action Fund, investment from new Director Neil Fentie and grant assistance from the Scottish Football Partnership and our thanks go to them all for their support".
