Jimmy Calderwood may be surprised by Hibs poor form in front of goal but he hopes it continues today.

Aberdeen head to Edinburgh today to take on Hibs who are suffering a stuttering start to the season. Visiting manager Jimmy Calderwood admits he is surprised to see Hibs eight in the table and have only found the net once in their past three games. And this from a team which, on paper, has one of the most attack minded front lines in the country. Hibs last won against today's opponents at Pittodrie on October 4 when a controversial late penalty from Derek Riordan was enough to secure the Edinburgh side a 2-1 win. However,t Calderwood is not underestimating the size of the task at hand for his players today. He said: "
I am surprised (by their start to the season) as they are a very attack-minded team and they have a lot of quality. The front three of Nish, Fletcher and Riordan with Shiels backing them up is a potent force. At this moment in time, it isn't working for them but they are a very good team and very dangerous to play against." However, his sympathy only goes so far and Calderwood is is hoping to pile on the misery for Mixu Paatelainen's side by taking all three points when the teams meet at Easter Road. He said: "I expect to win, as I always do. We started our last game down in Edinburgh against Hearts fantastically well in horrendous conditions and hopefully we will do the same this time. We know that we will have to be patient as we are away from home. We don't have to force it but we are going there to win the game."

Calderwood was surprised by the criticism his side received after their 2-0 win over St Mirren on Tuesday evening when late goals from Andrew Considine and Sone Aluko gave the Dons all three points. Calderwood went on: "T
hat would have been seen as a good win for other teams but we don't seem to get that praise. The most important thing was to get the result, although I can't really remember them making too many chances against us. St Mirren played Dundee United a couple of weeks ago and it was late in the game before Dundee United scored their two goals. They got praised for it but we got vilified. According to everyone it was a very bad game but St Mirren are a very well organised unit and we had to be patient on the night. I thought that was a wee bit uncalled for but we are tough enough to take it."
