C:WindowsTempphpB658.tmpScott Bain has delivered some impressive performances this season for Dundee and the goalkeeper has been rewarded with a new three-and-a-half-year contract. The former Alloa keeper, who was recently linked with a move to Celtic, has committed himself to the Dens Park club until the summer of 2018. Bain quit Recreation Park last summer as he was reunited with former Wasps manager Paul Hartley on Tayside. Bain had to wait for his opportunity as Kyle Letheren started the campaign in goal for the Dark Blues, but he has cemented his place as first choice at the club since late October.

Bain has notched up five clean sheets in 20 appearances as the Scottish Premiership new boys chase a top-six slot in their first season back in the top flight. Dundee managing director John Nelms said: "We are very happy to have a young talent like Scott Bain commit his future to us as we continue to build for a long bright future for Dundee Football Club."

St Johnstone goalkeeper Alan Mannus has signed a new two-year contract to remain at McDiarmid Park. The Northern Ireland international agreed the deal, which includes the option of a third year, following negotiations with the club in recent weeks. Mannus has played a key part in helping St Johnstone become an established top-six club, and was a major factor in delivering the Scottish Cup to Perth for the first time in their history last season.

Saints manager Tommy Wright said: "I am absolutely delighted that he has signed as he has been one of the top goalkeepers in the country over the last three seasons and I am happy that his long-term future is now secure. He’s committed for two years with an option beyond that, so we are all pleased. We’ve been speaking for some time now but there was never any problem – Alan has always just liked to take his time when considering his future which he is absolutely right to do."

Mannus, who joined St Johnstone in the summer of 2011, confirmed he is happy to extend his stay in Perth. He said: "I’m delighted to sign for two further years. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and I could not have hoped to have been treated any better by everyone within the club and the supporters. I look forward to finishing the season part of a squad who hopefully secure a place in the top six and then hopefully contribute to another good season next year and beyond."
