Jefferies Not Expecting Any Calls From Rod Petrie

Jim JefferiesFormer Hearts manager Jim Jefferies says that he does not think he will be getting a phone call from Hibs anytime soon about becoming the new manager at Easter Road. Hibs have been without a permanent manager since Colin Calderwood was asked to leave his post earlier this month following the club's 1-0 loss to Dunfermline at home. Jefferies' former assistant at cross city rivals Hearts, Billy Brown, has been in temporary charge and would like the job on a permanent basis. Jefferies has been out of work since August after being sacked at Tynecastle after just two games of the SPL season. However, he says he has not applied for the post at Hibs or been approached by the club.

The 61-year-old said: "If someone in an official capacity phoned me, I will tell them whether I am interested or not, but that has never happened. I don't think it will happen because you would think it might have been done by now. Billy is in there and for me, as he is the man in position, he has a real chance."
