With three points at stake, it only take a slight lapse in concentration for a few seconds for games to be lost.

Falkirk left Tynecastle on Saturday empty handed and manager John Hughes was ruing the individual mistakes made that are proving costly to a side with top-six ambitions. The Bairns contributed to an entertaining game against the side lying third in the table. But the loss of concentration at key moments in the game led to their downfall.

Hughes said: "
We gave ourselves too much to do, especially after the second goal. It's just disappointing the way we lost it, I felt it was self-inflicted. I am a little bit disappointed that we did not hold onto our goal for longer. Firstly there's the golden rule that you keep your concentration after scoring. It's when you're at your most vulnerable and we allowed Hearts to equalise so quickly after Steve Lovell had given us the lead. Having said that I felt that Darren Barr was fouled by Christian Nade in the build up to the goal. Secondly, we defended badly at the second goal. We aren't going to win too many games if we defend like that. Tynecastle is a difficult place to come to at the best of times but it doesn't help matters when you concede goals in that manner. On the positive side, there were pleasing debut performances from Chris Mitchell and Dermot McCaffrey which again shows the depth of strength we have in our squad and it was good to see that we had a real go at Hearts in the final 15 minutes."
