It Is Tough At The Bottom Of The League

When you are the team that is holding up the Scottish League structure you can really feel the pressure.
Bottom club Elgin hope to close the gap on their opponents from Berwick to a single point today. Under-pressure Elgin manager Robbie Williamson can welcome back Kenny Gilbert, Craig Campbell and David Niven. This will allow Steven Mackay tol be rested as he was named on the bench last week despite being less than match fit. Elgin sit bottom of the entire Scottish league and Williamson is determined to turn it around. He said: "The league table doesn't lie and at the moment we are the worst team in Scotland. It has been the worst two weeks of my football career, either as a player or a manager. That makes you more determined and stronger. It is my team, my selections that have got us bottom of the league and I will get us away from the bottom."
Eight games in and Berwick only managed their first clean sheet in over a year last week and manager Alan McGonigal is keen for his side to build on that when they host Elgin. Rangers are at full strength and McGonigal set to stick with the same team that won 3-0 against new League side Annan last week. He said: "That was a big result for us and as a reward to the lads, we'll probably be along the same lines. It was a relief to win but now we can look forward." | Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)
