Terry Butcher invernessTerry Butcher knows he will be working with a budget the same size as he did this season as he prepares for the next one. Following discussions with Inverness Caledonian Thistle chairman George Fraser, Butcher's next task will be looking to bring new signings in while others will be allowed to leave this summer. Out of contract at the end of the season are the likes of Adam Rooney, Chris Hogg and Stuart Duff and Butcher is about to begin talks with all his players. Butcher, whose team take on St Johnstone in the SPL at McDiarmid Park on Monday night, said: "The chairman has been on record saying that the budget has been frozen as the same, which we knew about. We had a good chat. We know what we want to do, it's now a case over the next few days of telling players what we want to do and what their futures are. We are trying to narrow down who we want to keep on because 15 players are out of contract."

Butcher has challenged his players to secure seventh spot in the SPL to give them a boost for next season, which begins on 23 July. He said: "The boys will be eager to get back into it because we will have one or two signings we would like to get in. But the boys have been great all season. We want to finish the season on a high. Players are playing for bonuses and pride."
