Holmes Out Of Action

Queen of the South have been dealt a blow with the news that striker Derek Holmes will be out of action for three weeks following the injury he picked up at Cappielow against Morton last weekend. Palmerston Park boss Kenny Brannigan said: "I am more disappointed at losing Derek than I was with the performance and defeat against Morton. He is a really important player for us as puts in a hard shift, holds the ball up well which brings his team-mates into the game and his aerial power will also be missed."

Holmes’ injury has came at a bad time for the Doonhamers as Brannigan explained: "With goalkeeper Roddy McKenzie and striker Sean O’Connor also out I am sitting with only 14 fully fit first team players and it is most frustrating".
