Tony Mowbray will want to get Celtic playing his way and that may need the right person to lead from the front on the pitch.

| The arrival of Tony Mowbray at his old stomping ground does not mean that all will be well just like that at Parkhead. There are still another 11 teams in the league determined to make the best of what they have and knock the shine of the Hoops new manager. During his time as manager of Hibs, Mowbray was a fan of exciting football but that did not mean they won ever game. Granted the players and resources he will have at his disposal this time around in the SPL are of a different league but will his philosophy of expansive football bring results that will keep the fans happy as well. Ex-Parkhead hero and Sky pundit, Charlie Nicholas believes Celtic need a new talisman on the pitch to inspire the fans who flock to Parkhead. Mowbray's moves in the transfer market will be watched closely as he strives to get a squad that will deliver the SPL title at the first time of asking as that is what the fans want. No pressure then.
Nicholas insists Mowbray has to find at least one player who can excite the Celtic fans. Nicholas said: "I am very happy with Tony becoming manager, he is the right guy to improve the team. I just hope that he gets a relatively decent budget because the current Celtic team needs fresh faces. I think it probably needs a couple of star names. I'm not talking about £50,000 per week (wages) or spending £10million (on fees) but we need to find someone to get the Celtic fans back onside, someone they can sing about and someone who can become a hero. They haven't had one for a little while."
Nicholas is looking forward to an improvement in Celtic's style of play but warned Mowbray results must follow. He said: "A lot of Celtic fans have said that the team didn't play the Celtic way under Gordon Strachan even though he was successful. But just playing the right way, saying the right things and having the right mentality doesn't always get you the prizes. The late and great Tommy Burns lost one league game (as Celtic manager) and Rangers still won the league. It was one of the best Celtic teams for a long, long time and Tommy had to bear the burden for that."
