Hearts have offered Prince Buaben a new three-year contract extension to keep the midfielder at Tynecastle. Buaben, who has been capped twice by Ghana, signed a one-year deal with Hearts during last summer but it is understood the Edinburgh club is now offering him a new and improved three-year deal.

Buaben has scored four times in 15 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Championship leaders this season. Hearts remain the only side in Britain unbeaten in their league following their 4-1 defeat of Queen of the South at Tynecastle at the weekend, in which Buaben missed a first half penalty. They are nine points clear of Rangers and travel to second-from-bottom Cowdenbeath on Saturday.
