Not every player plying his trade in Scotland heads south at the first opportunity.

Hasselbaink said: "I had a good feeling about St Johnstone and I am the kind of person who acts on my gut feelings. The manager impressed me and I liked what he had to say when I spoke to him. Everything felt right. I liked the way St Johnstone played last season and I think I can be a success here. There was interest from clubs in League One but I think the SPL is better than that. I want to play at the highest level I can so hopefully, if I do well with St Johnstone, that can happen. I feel I have done alright since I came to Scottish football. It is different to what I was used to in Holland, but it has been good and I think I'm improving as a player. I am still young so I have plenty more improvement to come."
