Chris Maguire is willing to work hard to impress Mark McGhee and force him to put him in the team.

Chris Maguire may not have be the first name that appears on Mark McGhee's Aberdeen team sheet each week but the striker has no plans to quit Aberdeen in January. Maguire started his first game for the Dons since the opening day of the season in the 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock before the international break. Despite doing well in the Scotland Under-21s this season, McGuire has found game time at club level hard to come by since Aberdeen made a poor start to the season. Reports from last weekend suggested Maguire felt McGhee had made him the scapegoat for that.

However, Maguire said: "
I've never said I wanted to leave the club in January - and I made it clear I don't have any problems with the manager. All I've said is that I want to start every game, which is all that any player wants. If I didn't feel like that, then the manager would think there was something wrong with me. I know it's up to me to put myself in his plans, and that's what I'm looking to do over the next few weeks. It's as simple as that."
