C:WindowsTempphp7EE2.tmpGlasgow City have been drawn against Italian Serie A side AS Roma in the Uefa Women’s Champions League first round. With the tie to be played on 18 of August. The winners of that tie will face Paris FC (FRA) or FC Servette (SUI) in the mini tournament final on 21 August. Glasgow City have been nominated as hosts. All games will be played in Glasgow, ensuring supporters will see a high-quality set of matches. Glasgow City will face an Italian side competitively for the first time. The Italians will make their UEFA Women’s Champions League debut this season following their best ever finish of second place in Serie A. The Italian side won their first major honour when they won the Coppa Italia in 2020-21 after a penalty shootout victory over AC Milan and followed it up with their best finish in the league last season.

City midfielder Hayley Lauder said: "The Champions League is always something we look forward to being involved in with Glasgow City. It’s a tough draw against Roma but it gives us another opportunity to compete and challenge ourselves against some of Europe’s best teams"

In the other semi-final Paris FC are a new name but played in the 2012/13 semi-finals as Juvisy. They finished 3rd in Ligue 1 last. They face Servette who are familiar to Glasgow City players and supporters. City faced the Swiss side in the second-round last year with Servette edging out City 3-2 on aggregate to reach the group stage where they finished bottom of a tough group featuring Chelsea, Juventus and VfL Wolfsburg. The Swiss side reached the Round of 32 the year before where they were knocked out by Atletico Madrid. Servette topped the Swiss League but the championship is decided in playoffs, and lost on penalties to Zurich.
