Head Coach Scott Booth made seven changes to the side which played in the Champions League, with a number of young players and City Development stars called up to the squad and the youngsters once again stepped up to the mark.

Carla Boyce showed what was to come from the Cup holders as she fired City ahead after only 60 seconds on the clock. Good play from Sarah Crilly released Shine and she buried the ball past Storrie in the Glasgow Girls goal to make it 2-0. Number three arrived from Shine again as she pounced on the keeper’s parry after an initial save from a Lauren McMurchie effort. Boyce scored her second and City’s fourth goal on 20 minutes firing low into the bottom corner. Crilly buried the ball into the back of the net eight minutes later to make it 5-0 and Shine got her hat-trick before she was replaced at the break on 39 minutes.  Crilly finished off an excellent Nicola Docherty cross on the half time whistle to give City a very comfortable 7-0 lead at the break.

Booth made further changes in the second half, but City continued to dominate and Crilly hit a looping effort high into the top corner for her hat-trick before getting her fourth and her team’s final goal of the game with a clever lob of the keeper after a diagonal ball from Brogan Hay.

The SSE Scottish Cup Final will take place on Sunday 6 November, 3pm kick off, at Hamilton’s Superseal Stadium.
