|Dumbarton manager Stevie Aitken was among the small group of managers frustrated not to have a game to guide yesterday due to the weather. The Sons of the Rock were due to play Peterhead in the Scottish Cup but it was not to be. The game was postponed following a pitch inspection on Friday which was of some saving grace for those planning to travel to the game on Saturday.
Speaking on Friday, Aitken said: "Having made extensive preparations for what is an important game, the match being called off is a real blow. Not just for us, but for Peterhead too. And for the fans it's not an ideal situation for the midweek rescheduled game given the distance involved. The lads were really ready for it for tomorrow and were wanting to play. Unfortunately that frustration is there."
There was no respite for the squad as Aitken planned to have a training session on the planned match day. Looking ahead the manager said: "We will try and get together if we can. Training in the last week has been difficult because of the conditions so I'm looking to fix something up."
