Ferguson Leaves Before He Starts

Derek Ferguson has had a very short stay as assistant manager at Dumbarton. Last Wednesday, the club announced that the former Rangers and Hearts midfielder and Stranraer manager would form part of newly appointed interim manager Alan Adamson’s backroom staff. However, Ferguson is now not taking up the position. A club spokesperson said: "Derek’s on-going media commitments have meant that he could not commit the time required for the assistant manager’s position and therefore he will not be part of Dumbarton’s interim backroom staff."

Adamson has also started re-shaping his squad as winger Graham Wilson has re-joined Junior side Cumnock after just 3 months at Strathclyde Homes Stadium and on-loan Aberdeen youngster Stirling Smith returning to Pittodrie.
